< Tournament Notes >

Captains Meeting : 8:45 am

This year's Tournament is on Upper Hutchinson Fields.
This means that there won't be as much space for team's to set up their basecamp's for the day
as there has been in year's past... As a general guideline, teams may want to set up their camp's
along the southern and western edges of the fields, backed up as far as they can go to the volleyball courts
and the train tracks respectively... The key is to have these camp's back from the diamonds so that idle teams
do not interfere with the sidelines of active games. If the width of your camp's are about 30 feet or so... that
should allow room for everyone. The Reservoir Dogz will set up their camp behind the Diamond 2 backstop to
create a relatively central area for the reporting of scores
.

< Final Tournament Brackets >

(Note : Division Numbers align with the top seed in that division... not with the Diamonds the games are played on...
i.e. Berglund Construction is the #2 seed, so they're in Division 2, but they, and all the teams within their Division,
play all their Tournament games on Diamond 4)

< Tournament Play >

With 16 teams this year... we have a nice, even 4 divisions with 4 teams in each
. The divisions are seeded
from the regular season final standings with the chart (above) representing the final Tournament Divisions.
Each team will play every other team in their division once, representing (3) guaranteed games.

Tournament games
will be (6)-innings. No extra-innings, ties are allowed.
Every effort should be made to complete these games in (1) hour
.

The whistle will blow on the hour.

The Master ScoreBoard for the Tournament will be kept near the Dogz basecamp directly behind the
Diamond 2 backstop
... The final score of each game must be reported here directly after the
conclusion of each game by each team's Captain. Both Captains will initial each score. If only one
Captain reports and initials... that's the score that's official (we had a problem with this last year),
No Exceptions.

Each team will have 3 games and 3 byes... plenty of time for bbq'ing and beer. Captains are responsible for
knowing their teams schedule and having their teams ready to go at gametime.

The top (4) seeds after the regular season are guaranteed a 9am bye.
The top (8) seeds after the regular season are guaranteed (2) home-games and (1) away-game within tournament play.

< Tie-Breakers >

At the conclusion of Tournament play (3pm)... each Division will send its best team to the Final Four.
Divisional winners will be determined first by Record, then by Head-to-Head within the division, then by
Least Runs Allowed
, then by Most Runs Scored and finally, by Seed.

For the Championship Game, our league's 'close-call' rule will NOT be in effect...
On game day I will pick (2) volunteer umpires for this game (from teams that are finished)
to cover safe/out calls on the bases and fair/foul calls down the lines.
The umpire's calls will be final - no excessive arguments.
